Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA, date unknown:

Jessie Lee Jordan, daughter of Mary and George Jordan, was born July 28, 1887 at Pleasantville, Ia., and died Sept. 3, 1967, at the Pleasant Care Nursing Home at Pleasantville, at the age of 80 years, one month and six days.

Jessie lived all her life in the Marion and Warren County areas. As a young woman she was baptized into the Christian Church at Pleasantville.

Nov. 28, 1905, she was united in marriage to Verg Marsh of Pleasantville. Having no children, April 2, 1926, they took into their home eight foster children and raised them as their own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, one sister, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by two sisters; Olive Long of Indianola and Addie Spurgin of Melcher, Ia.; eight foster children, Ethel Bowlin, Ray and Rex Boucher, all of Indianola, Ia.; Leatha Gray of Santa Monica, CA.; Robert Boucher of Milo, Ia.; Beulah Brown of Westland, MI.; Ruby Nelson of Winter Haven, FL.; Rose Conn of Des Moines, Ia.; 28 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Carleton L. Briggs Sept. 6, 1967, at the Overton Funeral Home. Interment was in the Indianola IOOF cemetery.
