Mabel Louise Spence, 68, of Indianola died of emphysema Saturday, June 26, 1999, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held June 30 at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial at IOOF Cemetery.

Mrs. Spence was born in Stuart and lived in Indianola most of her life. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Indianola.

Survivors include her husband, Allen; a daughter, Carol Dale; two sons, William Glasgow and Frank Glasgow all of Indianola; four brothers, Ernie Johnson of Indianola, Harold Johnson of Las Vegas, Victor Johnson of Arizona, and Larry Johnson of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
