Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA on 8-22-1990:

Robert Riddle Jacobs, 81, of Lacona died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 1990, of complications after heart surgery at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held Aug. 17 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lacona, of which he was a member, with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mr. Jacobs was born in Lacona and lived there his entire life. He drove a freight truck for 45 years, was mayor of Lacona for six years, a volunteer firefighter for 45 years and was a city councilman for 16 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita; a son, Ronald of Munster, Ind.; a daughter, Norma Miller of Lacona; two brothers, Marvin of Ankeny and James of Porum, Okla.; three sisters, Velda Samuelson of West Des Moines, Anna Maye Pederson of Ankeny and Frances Hoffman of Lacona; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lacona Fire-Rescue Department.
