Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 2-6-2001:

Earl Dean "Tex" Hukill, 78, of Indianola died of a heart ailment Monday at Village Health Care Center there. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial at Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery there.

Mr. Hukill was born in Milo and had lived in Warren County before moving to Indianola in 1981. He had been a farmer before retiring and was an Army veteran of World War ll. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Noon Lions Club and American Legion. He had wintered in Sarasota, Fla., and enjoyed baseball spring training.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; and a sister, Joanne Amos of Prole.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Indianola, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Buxton Park in Indianola.

Earl "Tex" Hukill, 78, of Indianola died of heart failure Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at The Village Health Care Center. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Overton Funeral Home, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. at Overtons, with burial at Indianola IOOF Cemetery.
Mr. Hukill was born in Milo and had farmed in the Center Chapel community following World War II until moving to Indianola in 1981. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Indianola Noon Lions Club, American Legion Post.
