Obituary from an unknown newspaper, date unknown, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

James Raymond Hollingsworth, son of John and Belle Hicks Hollingsworth, was born at Milo on Jan. 17, 1902 and passed away July 2, 1982 at Des Moines General Hospital after suffering a severe heart attack.

On March 17, 1921, Ray was united in marriage to Bessie Douglas. To this union one son was born, who, along with his parents, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lela Wilts.

On Jan. 20, 1957 ray was united in marriage to Doris Anderson, who survives him. Also surviving are a sister, Marie Lustman of Amarillo, Texas; a niece Lela Jean Wilkinson and two nephews Robert and Richard Wilts; one step-daughter, Mary Frevert of Des Moines; three step-grandchildren, Barbara Hindorff of Council Bluffs, Dennis Frevert of Cedar Rapids, and Richard Frevert of Cedar Falls and three great-grandchildren.

Ray served in the Army during World War II and was active in the American Legion Post in Milo. He also was a mason, being a member of Milan Lodge No. 409 in Milo for over 50 years. He was active for many years in the city government and served in many capacities with the Milo Manor.

He had many occupations, including farming, barbering, and he worked for the state tax commission for many years.

Services were held Tuesday July 6, 1982 at the Mosher Funeral Home in Milo, with interment in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
