Cecil Orastus Hollingsworth was born near Milo, Ia. in Warren County to Levi and Ina Hollingsworth March 12, 1906, and died Dec. 2, 1972 at the age of 66 years and 8 months. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge.

On March 18, 1826, he was united in marriage to Edna Sargent. To this union were born two children, Eleanor and Lawrence. He was employed as a millwright for the past 29 years and was a member of the local union in Omaha, Neb.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; a daughter, Eleanor Carlisle; two brothers, Frank of Indianola and Ervil of Battle Lake, Minn.; and four grandchildren, Casey Carlisle of San Diego Naval Base, and Karol, Lenny and Kellie Jo Hollingsworth of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his father, Levi Hollingsworth; his mother, Ina Hollingsworth; his son, Lawrence Hollingsworth; his brothers, Bert and Lester Hollingsworth; and a sister, Ethel.

Funeral services were conducted at Hamilton's Funeral Home, Des Moines. Interment was in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
