Karen Jeanette Ohnemus (née Whitmore), of Indianola, went to eternal rest on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Ohnemus, parents William and Jeanette Whitmore and stepbrother Mark Seiwert. Karen is survived by stepmother Alice Whitmore of Indianola; stepsisters, Anna Hoffman (Brian) of Lacona, Terri Wood (Kent) of St. Louis, Karen Herkelman (Sam) of Hudson, Mary Chavez (Rocky) of Oceanside, Calif.; and stepbrother Don Seiwert(Julie) of Indianola. Karen also was cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 18 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 19 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola. Cremation will follow services and burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
