Virgil Anthony Hoch, 80, of Melcher-Dallas died of a heart ailment Thursday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church here, with burial in Bauer Cemetery.

Mr. Hoch, a retired farmer and lifelong area resident, was a member of the Catholic Church.

Among survivors are two sons, Roger and Melvin, both of Knoxville; two daughters, Marla Forret of Booneville and Donna Forst of Glendale, Ariz.; three bothers, Claude of Chariton and Flavian and Gilbert, both of Melcher-Dallas; three sisters, Elinor McAllister of Melcher-Dallas, Ivola Schmidt of Beaver Dam, Wis., and Marcella Ripperger of Lacona; and 10 grandchildren.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at Mosher Funeral Home, where a Scripture service will be read at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the Melcher-Dallas Rescue Squad.
