Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 2-5-1993:

Edwin Donald Hoch, 60, of 3124 S. Union St. died of a stroke Tuesday at Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lacona, and burial will be in Milo IOOF Cemetery.

Mr. Hoch was born in Omaha and lived in Des Moines much of his life, retiring as a machinist for AMF. He was a veteran of the Army.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane; a son, David of Des Moines; four daughters, Elizabeth Caplinger of Richmond, Va., Roberta Hoch of Gainesville, Fla., and Cathy McVey and Patricia Hoch, both of Des Moines; his mother, Rena Hoch of Indianola; a brother, John of Brocklet, Ga.; and 12 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the church, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture service. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements are being handled by Mosher Funeral Home in Chariton.
