Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA on 7-12-1984:

Harley Earl Hite, son of Jobe and Flora Hite, was born Aug. 16, 1894, near Liberty Center and died at Westview Care Center in Indianola on March 20. He was 89.

On Sept. 29, 1915, he married Hallie Bumgarner. They had two sons, Wayne and Ron. Hallie preceded Mr. Hite in death in August 1982 after 67 years together.

During the greater part of his life he was a farmer near Liberty Center, moving to Liberty Center for a few years, then to Indianola in 1958.

He is survived by his son Wayne and his wife, Irene, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; his son, Ron of Sheffield; a grandson, Ken and his wife Theresa; a great-granddaughter, April and step-grandchildren, Patty and Edgar, all of California, and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola on March 23 with burial in the IOOF cemetery.

Services are pending at Peterson Funeral Home for Harley E. Hite, 89, of 108 S. Eighth St.
Mr. Hite died Tuesday evening at the Westview Care Center.
For many years he farmed in the Liberty Center area. He moved to Indianola in 1958.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne of California and Ronald of Sheffield; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
