Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 5-16-2012:

Deborah A. Flesher, 60, of West Des Moines died Saturday, May 12, 2012, at her home.

Deb was born August 18, 1951, in Indianola, Iowa, the daughter of Charles William and Mary Rosalie Flesher. She graduated from Harrisburg (Pennsylvania) High School and earned her degree from Drake University.

She was a longtime employee of the downtown Des Moines Younkers store and most recently was an administrative assistant at the Davis Brown Law Firm. For many years she was a loving caregiver to her aging father.

Deb had a bigger-than-life personality and a laugh that brought smiles to the faces of her family and friends. She enjoyed rhythm and blues music, spending time with friends and family, and her two Pomeranians, Bogart and Bacall. She was a devoted Christian who enjoyed studying her Bible and reading spiritual literature.

Deb is survived by her brother, Steven C. (Connie) Flesher of Johnston; niece, Angela R. (Brian) Daniels and her children, Max and Sam, of Johnston; nephew, Charles W. (Michelle) Flesher II of Des Moines; aunts, Marcie (Lee) Stoppel of Oakley, Kan., and Lulu Belle McGuire of Lakeland, Florida; uncle Dewey "Jud" (Caroline) McKee of Norwalk; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

A memorial funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 18, at Peterson Funeral Home, 602 E. Salem Ave., Indianola. The family will hold a committal burial service at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens in Indianola.
