Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA, date unknown:

Jean F. Porter, 86, of St. Charles died of complications of pancreatic cancer Saturday, June 29, 2002, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Visitation with family will be Tuesday, July 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at First Baptist Church in Winterset, with burial at St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles.

Mrs. Porter was born in Peru and had lived in Madison Country all her life. She was a retired homemaker and Avon sales representative. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles, a Sunday school teacher and was involved in children's evangelism.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fon W. Porter.

Survivors include five sons, Lowell of Russell, Ky., Lavernne of Omaha, LeRoy of Paduka, Ky., Stephen of St. Charles and Timothy of Peru; four daughters, Jean Epp of Mount Vernon, Wash., Joy Headrick of Denver, Colo., Linda Wall of Glendive, Mont., and Connie Johnston of Poplar, Mont.; a brother, Paul Fenimore of Euphratta, Wash.; 28 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church in St. Charles.
