Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA on 7-9-1986:

Services were held in the Chapel of Dudley-Hoffman for Robert Duane Botkin, 71, who died in Santa Maria, Calif. The Rev. Clitus Doyal of the First Christian Church officiated. Burial was in the Santa Maria Cemetery.

Botkin was born in Milo, May 5, 1914, and had been a resident of Santa Maria since 1956. He retired from Wilson Meat Company after 18 years service and was a real estate agent in Santa Maria.

He graduated from Milo High School, was a member of the U.S. Navy Sea Bees during World War II, and was a member of the Santa Maria Elks Lodge No. 1538.

Survivors include his sisters, Frances Dickerson and Katherine Sanders of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris L. Botkin, Oct. 15, 1985; also five brothers, Lewis, Richard and Keith of Des Moines, Charles of Napa, Calif., and Jack of Portland, Ore.; and a sister, Margaret Wishman of Des Moines.
