Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 2-8-2010:

Mr. Gerald Botkin, age 96, passed away early Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center.

Born in Milo, Iowa he was a long time Indianola Barber. His last residence had been the Indianola Good Samaritan Center.

Gerald was a long time member of Rotary International.

His wife Marie preceded him in death last July 2009.

Surviving Gerald are three cousins-Lavaun Brocker and Dorothy Carter of Indianola, IA., and Marilyn Olson of Westminister, CO.

Chapel services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 10, 2010 at Peterson funeral home, 602 E. Salem, Indianola, conducted by Rev. Hearold McElwee. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Committal services and burial are at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Memorials will go to Central Iowa Hospice in memory of Gerald.
