Chester Glen Neer, 85, died Nov. 16. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Lacona Church of the Nazarene of which he'd been a member, the Rev. Hazel Morton officiating.

Interment was in the Liberty Center Cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Neer are 11 children, Melvin of Grimes, Marvin of Springfield, Mo., Darrell of Des Moines, Mona Evans of Chariton, Doyle of Lacona, Donna Brandson of Melcher, Arlene Slack of Chariton, June Freeman of Chariton, Dean of Lacona, Shirley Donigan of Camdenton, Mo., Ronnie of Lacona; one sister, Fern Boylan of Chariton; 44 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Don; two grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys.
