Vera Alice Riley, 71, of Des Moines died of cancer Sunday, Sept. 25, 1994, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Riley, who had worked at S.S. Kresge, was born in Warren County and lived in Des Moines most of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald; a son, Ron Jr. of Des Moines; two daughters, Maryann Overton of Des Moines and Donna Johnson of Keokuk; two brothers, Donald Blackford of Prole and Leslie Blackford of Indianola; a sister, Dorothy Johnson of Indianola; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
