Funeral services for William "Bill" C. Allen, 77, of rural Indianola will be held Wednesday, June 15, 1988, at 1:30 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ackworth Cemetery.

Mr. Allen died of cancer Sunday June 12, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A lifelong resident of Warren County, he had worked from 1961 through 1976 for the Iowa Department of Agriculture as an animal inspector. He also had worked for the Federal ASCS as a grain bin inspector and for Diamond Laboratories in Des Moines. He formed through all of his adult life in East Lincoln township. He had served one two-year term from 1949 through 1951 on the Warren County Board of Supervisors. He was a member of the Indianola IOOF Lodge No. 70.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy;two sons, Leslie of rural Ackworth and Steven of Des Moines; a Daughter, Dixie Ruble of Indianola; a brother, Roy Allen of Mission, Texas' three sisters, Dorothy Judkins of Milo, Eleanor Taylor of Indianola, and Opal Allen of Iowa City; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ackworth Cemetery Association.
