Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA on 10-4-2006:

Rachel L. Ryswyk, 85, of Indianola and formerly of Carlisle, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Westview Care Center. Funeral services were Oct. 2 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Carlisle. Burial was in Carlisle Township Cemetery.

Mrs. Van Ryswyk had been a farm wife and was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church and the High Hatters Dance Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Sr; her parents; a sister, Irene Tonsi; and two brothers, Max and Americo Oberto.

Survivors include her sons, Don Jr. and Dean of Indianola and Dennis of Carlisle; a brother, Dom Peno of Carlisle; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Carlisle Fire Rescue, Westview Care Center or St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.

Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle handled the arrangements.
