Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 11-20-2006:

Funeral services for Bob Dykstra will be Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Milo United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Milo. Memorials are requested to the SE Warren Athletic Boosters or the Milo Rescue Unit.

Bob was born June 29, 1926 in Beacon, Iowa to Ben and Aretta Doty Dykstra. He moved to Milo his freshman year and graduated from Milo. He served under General McArthur after being drafted into the Army. Bob married Juanita Freeman in 1951 and spent their married life Dairy Farming until retiring. He belonged to many local and farm organizations and enjoyed hunting and was a sports fan especially SEW Warhawks and the Hawkeyes.

Bob passed away November 18, 2006 at the Comfort Hospice House in Pella. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Darlene Streeter; and daughter-in-law, Linda Dykstra.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Juanita; his sons, Dan and Barb and Dwayne and Sandy; grandchildren, Danelle, Kyle, Dusty, and Dillon Dykstra and Becky and Andy Schurman; a sister, Bonnie Sheets of Winterset and a host of relatives and friends.
