Obituary from The Winterset Madisonian newspaper, Winterset, Madison County, Iowa, USA on 2-7-1951:

Mrs. Gold Dorrell, a resident of Madison county practically all of her life, died Monday, Feb. 5, 1951, at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 64 years of age.

Mrs. Dorrell was the former Bertha Gordon, and was born July 16, 1886, at Winterset, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newt Gordon. On Aug. 9, 1905, she was married to Gold Dorrell. They were parents of nine children, one of whom preceded the mother in death.

Surviving are her husband; eight children, Warren and Nicholas Dorrell of Winterset, Mrs. Wayne Allen of Lorimor, Mrs. George Bradshaw of Newton, Woodrow Dorrell of Winterset, Mrs. Betty O'Neal of Whittier, Calif., and Ronald Dorrell of Winterset.

She also leaves 15 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Forrest and Ronald Gordon of Indianola; and two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Dietrich of Indianola and Mrs. Ethel Cosner of Conrad.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Winterset Foursquare church, in charge of the Rev. Howard Carson and the Rev. Melvin Hanson. Burial will be made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery.
