C. D. Spear, 90, of Indianola died of a heart ailment Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held Oct. 19 at Overton Funeral Home, with burial at Indianola IOOF Cemetery.

Mr. Spear was born in Warren County and had lived in the Indianola area all his life.

He was a farmer and had raised purebred Angus cattle before retiring. He was a member of the Iowa State Angus Cattle Association and Green Plain United Methodist Church and had served on the Warren County and Southeast Warren school boards. He enjoyed college athletics and was an avid Iowa and Iowa State fan.

Survivors include his wife, Mable; a son, Marvin of Indianola; three daughters, Edith Henry and Edna Lester, both of Indianola, and Janice Goode of Lacona; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
