Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 8-9-2012:

James F. Hawkins, 84, passed away Saturday morning, August 4, 2012, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, August 13, 2012 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Ankeny. A private burial of the cremains will be at a later date.

James was the youngest son of James l. and Bertha (Tuttle) Hawkins, and was born September 26, 1927 in Wayne County, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie (Lockard) Hawkins, sisters; Elsie Smith, Louise Clark, Arlene McKnight, and Norma Hawkins, a brother-in-law, Raymond Ball, and over 200 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and four brothers.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Ankeny, Mercy Hospice in Johnston, or a memorial of your choice.
