Ray, John G., Mytle M., and Mary L., survive, the Rev. Anzel E. and an infant son having preceded him in death. In the fall of 1875 he and his wife located on a farm south of Milo where they lived for nearly forty years, until the time when they retired from the farm and came to Milo in 1915. In early manhood he united with the Presbyterian church in Indianola. Soon after his marriage he united with the United Persbyterian church of Lacona where his wife already held her membership. Later they became charter members of the United Presbyterian church of Milo and also charter members of the Presbyterian church of Milo. Mr. Nutting served as an elder in each of these Milo churches and taught a Sunday school class over a period of almost fifty years. After the Presbyterian church disbanded he enjoyed the fellowship of the Methodist Episcopal church of Milo where he took an active part in the work as long as his health permitted. Mr. Nutting was a man greatly loved and respected by all who knew him and was held in high esteem for his consistent Christian life.
