Russell Amos Spencer, 81, of Woodburn died of a heart attack Thursday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Spencer was born in Story County and moved to Clarke County in 1939. He had been a farmer and retired as a technician for Bell Brothers in Des Moines.

Among survivors are his wife, Betty; a daughter, Sue Keeler of Osceola; a stepdaughter, Sue Ruth of Indianola; a stepson, Wade Teter of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Herbert of Hot Springs, Ark.; a sister, Mildred Swinford of Keokuk; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
