RUSSELL V. LOGUE
Norwalk

Russell V. Logue, 90, passed away July 25, 2011 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Rd., followed by Military Honors.

Born July 27, 1920 in Ogden, IA, Russell was one of seven children born to Walt and Hattie Logue. Russell served in the 8th Air Force, 392nd Bomb Group, 577th Squadron, in the European Theater of Operations as a radio operator/advanced bombardier and was a member of The Caterpillar Club. After his discharge from the service, he graduated from Drake University. Russell retired from Thermogas Company as a manager for over 40 years. He was a life member of the Masons as well as the Kaabba Shrine.

Russell enjoyed spending time outside golfing, hunting, and fishing. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father who had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charles, Glen, Vern and Maebelle.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Marilyn; daughters, Vicki Logue and Debi Logue, son-in-law, William Sherman; sisters, Shirley Cross of Webster City and Alice Clark of Nebraska City, NE; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Russell's name to Shriners Hospital for Children. These donations may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the attention of Lauren Herro, Shriners Hospital for Children, 2025 E. River Parkway, Minneapolis, MN, 55414.
