JOHN J. LINNANE SERVICE THURSDAY

Bevington Soldier Killed in Action in Belgium During War

The body of T/4 John J. Linnane, son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Linnane, Sr., of Bevington, arrived home there Tuesday from the battlefields of Europe, and will be buried at Churchville this Thursday.

The soldier was killed in action Dec. 23, 1944, in Belgium, during the Battle of the Bulge, while serving with the Third Armored division of the U.S. army. He had been inducted into service in January, 1942. He had been buried in Henri Chapelle cemetery in Belgium.

Funeral services will be held in Assumption church, at Churchville this Thursday at 10 a.m., and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery there.

The body arrived at the Linnane home near Bevington Tuesday, where it remained until time for the funeral.
