Dennis L. Pendry, 59, of Montezuma died of cancer Friday at home. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Community United Presbyterian Church in Hartford, of which he was a member.

Mr. Pendry was born in Des Moines and had lived in Hartford before moving to Montezuma six years ago. He was a retired self-employed building contractor.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy; a son, Douglas of Pleasant Hill; a daughter, Denise Goodhue, and sister, Donna Pendry, both of Hartford; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa. Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle is handling arrangements.
