MRS. DON PORTER Dies At 54 Years

Mrs. Don Porter of near New Virginia died Saturday, August 13, 1966, at the hospital in Osceola. She was 54 years of age.

Mrs. Porter was the former Phyllis May Powell, daughter of Rex and Cora Gillett Powell, and was born at Atlantic January 8, 1912. She was married to Don Porter at Maryville, Missouri, on November 4, 1939. Their married life was spent in Warren County.

She was a member of the Christian church at St. Charles.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Linda, at home, two sons, Mike Porter of Downey, California, and Patrick Porter of the U.S. Navy; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Powell of Greenfield; and three brother, Jack Powell and Charles Powell of Cedar Rapids and Rex Powell, Jr., of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the St. Charles Christian church, conducted by the Rev. Tom Foglesong of Des Moines. Burial was made in the Greenfield cemetery.
