Open House At Motor For E. G. Adamson’s 50th Wedding Anniversary
[Earnest G. Adamson & Clara Bassett, married Oct 14, 1906 in Motor, Warren County, Iowa]

Mrs. Loren Downey was hostess at Open House for Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Adamson who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Motor Friends Church on Sunday afternoon, October 11 from 2 to 4. They were married October 14, 1906 in the Motor Friends parsonage by the Rev. Thomas Perisho. They were attended by his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Adamson, who attended the Open House Sunday. A sister-in-law, Mrs. Elva Bassett of Des Moines, who also attended the wedding, was present at the Open House. Mrs. Adamson was Clara Bassett, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Amzi Bassett. She came to Iowa with her parents at the age of four. Mr. Adamson has lived all his life in Morot community except for two years they spent in Texas soon after their marriage. They have two children, Cecil Adamson of Indianola and Mrs. Loren Downey of Springfiled, MO, who were with them for the celebration, as were their eleven grand children, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Adamson, Melvin Adamson, Ronald Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Freeman of Indianola, Dwight Downey of Des Moines, Duane, Gary and Darrell Downey of Springfield, MO, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Porter and the two great grand children, Danny and DeAnna of Milo and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Cecil Adamson of Indianola.
Mr. and Mrs. Adamson received many lovely gifts, cards and flowers. Mrs. Fred Smith was dining room hostess. Mrs. Carl Adamson assisted in serving. The serving table was decorated with gold and white, a lovely doll cake and vases of flowers. Mrs. Willis Downey and Mrs. Donald Porter poured. Mrs. Cecil Adamson had charge of the guest book and the grandsons were in charge of the gifts. Other relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs. Carl McGraw of Milo, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bassett, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Lympus of Indianola, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Martens of Martensdale, Mr. and Mrs. Theo Howard and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gillium and four children of Des Moines. Mr. and Mrs. James Bucklew and Mrs. Ora Brasher of Dallas.
