McKAY, CHARLES, Indianola, merchant; was born in Taylorville, Kentucky, in 1827; he came to Des Moines, Iowa, in 1849, and settled in Hartford, Richland, township, in 1853, and was engaged in selling goods; in 1859 he was elected county clerk, and held the office twelve years; he married Miss Hannah Noble in 1854; she was born in Indiana; has six children, Walter N., J. O'Niel, Martha C., William F., Charles A., Frank P.
