RHINE, JOSHUA W., farmer, Richland Township, Sec. 15; P. O. Hartford; born in the State of Maryland in 1819; when but a small boy his parents moved to Ohio, where he was raised till in the fall of 1845, when he came to this county, with his family, in wagons, and remained but one year, when on account of sickness in his family, he returned to Ohio, and remained till the spring of 1852, when he came back to this county and settled on his present farm of 122 acres; he was twice married, first in Ohio, in 1841, to Miss Sophia Ginder, who died in this county in December, 1858, and left six children, four of whom are now living: John, Jacob M., James A., and Thomas; two deceased, Wm. H., who died in the army, and Sophia E.; he was married a second time to Malinda Wilson in 1859; they have nine children: George, Louis, Franklin B., Amanda, Homer, Mark, Freddie, Petromella, and Stella.
