PILMER, DAVID, farmer, Greenfield Township, Sec. 14, P. O. Summerset; is a native of Scotland, born in the year 1818, and came to America in 1850, and first lived in Ohio; he came from that State to this county in Oct., 1855; he was married in Scotland to Miss Margaret Dickson, in 1838; they have a family of five children living: George, John, Robert, Jeanette and Margaret; they have lost five; he owns an improved farm of 730 acres in this county, and also 160 acres in Union county, this State; his son John, enlisted in Co. H, 9th Iowa Cavalry, Nov. 1, 1863, and served till the close of the war.
