OLIVE, JOHN A., Indianola, machinist and blacksmith; was born in England in 1823, and learned the trade of blacksmith; he emigrated to America in 1852, and settled in Iowa City, and came to this county in 1857; he has served as a member of the city council; he married Miss Mary A. Hall in 1857; she was born in Ireland; they have five children: Edward R., Oliver H., Fred W., Walter A. and Mary B.; they have lost four: Elizabeth, John, Elmer and Caddie.
