McELROY, WILLIAM T., farmer, East Washington Township, Sec. 15; P. O. Ackworth; was born in Ohio, in the hear 1828, and was raised there till he came to this State in 1855, and located in Warren county, but has only lived on his present homestead for about eleven years. He has been twice married; first, in the State of Ohio, in 1851, to Miss Eliza J. McKee, of that state who died in 1863, leaving a family of four children, John S., W. I., L. T. and G. L. His second marriage was in the year 1866, to Amanda J. gill, of Ohio, They have six children, Samuel E., Minta E., Arthur, Cora A., Etta and Anna J. Mr. McElroy was raised on a farm, and now owns one of 135 acres. At nineteen years of age he learned the carpenter's trade, which he has followed more or less since. When he first came to the county, he was connected with a saw-mill.
