McCOY, WILLIAM, farmer, White Oak Township, Sec. 21; P. O. Indianola; born in County Antrem, Ireland, in 1844, where he was raised; he emigrated to this country in 1862, locating in Illinois, and the following year he started for the gold mines of Idaho and Montana, where he followed mining with considerable success for seven years; in 1871 returned to Illinois, and a few months afterward came to this county, where he has improved a farm of 125 acres; he was married February 2, 1877, to Miss Emily Florence, a native of this county.
