McCORMICK, JAMES, farmer, Union Township, Sec. 15; P. O. Sandyville: born in the State of Virginia, August 11, 1819; he became a permanent resident of this county in the year 1870, and owns a farm of 120 acres, of choice land, well-improved, and in a good state of cultivation; in 1842, Aug. 11, he was married in Owen county, Ind., to Miss Sarah McHenry, a native of that county; they have a family of nine children: Montgomery, Mary (wife of J. G. Sandy), Thomas, Anna (now Mrs. Reynolds, of Marion county), Amanda (wife of J. Ream, of Kansas), Lizzie (now Mrs. Fare, of Winterset), Laura, Minnie and Charles O.; their third son, George A., died while in the army.
