HUGHS, JOHN, farmer, Greenfield Township, Sec. 30; P. O. Spring Hill; born in Ohio, October 24, 1818, and came to Polk county, this State, in 1850, and lived there four years, then came to this county in February, 1854; he was married in Ohio, in 1845, to Miss Pleasy Morris, a native of that State; they have a family of six children living: Mahala, Harriet, Lucy, Albert P., David D. and Eva Maria; owns a farm of eighty acres.
