HENSON, BENJAMIN F., farmer and stock raiser, Sec. 19; West Washington Township, P. O. Indianola; was born in Harrison county, Kentucky, in the year 1823. When he was about twelve years old, his parents emigrated to Illinois, where he was raised and received his early training. He was brought up on a farm, and each successive year has added to his experience in that line. He now owns nine hundred and seventy acres of land, in the country, the most of which is well improved, and the balance affording good pasturage for the amount of stock that he raises. Mr. Henson is well known throughout the country, and highly respected by all those who are acquainted with him. He is of a genial, pleasant disposition, and always ready to favor a friend. He is one of the early settlers of the county named, settled here in September, 1853. He was married in 1844, to Miss Nancy Hutt, of Kentucky. They have three sons and two daughters; George W., Gideon, Frank, Sarah F., wife of Ira Glascock, and Mary.
