GIFFORD, JOHN B., Indianola, merchant; was born in Orange county, Indiana, in 1824, and was raised there on a farm; in 1855, he came to Iowa, and settled in Warren county; owns 255 acres of land; he has held various township offices; he married Miss G. Hoskins in 1849; she was born in North Carolina; they have two children: Albert, and Dora, now Mrs. Honnold, whose husband is associated with the subject of this sketch in business.
