ROY WILLIAM SCHOOLER
Roy W. Schooler is postmaster and partner in the general merchandise store of Schooler and Owens at Hartford. He was born near Indianola Dec. 7, 1897, the son of Thomas Albert and Alice Bertha (Pitman) Schooler. After receiving his early education in the public schools of his community, Mr. Schooler attended the school of business administration at Simpson College.
Sept. 15, 1921, Mr. Schooler married Ermile Ellen Keeney, daughter of Arden W. and Lulu B. (Randleman) Keeney of Carlisle. Mrs. Schooler was born July 15, 1900. The Schoolers have one son, Robert L., born in 1928, and two granddaughters, Candace Glee and Deborah Jay.
Roy W. Schooler has engaged in general merchandising for 33 years, operating stores at Summerset, Carlisle and Hartford, where he has been the last 27 years. He is a director of the Hartford-Carlisle Savings bank at Carlisle. The Schoolers belong to the Presbyterian church, and fraternally he is affiliated with the Masonic lodge, Hartford, No. 83. Mr. Schooler has served as a member of the Hartford board of education and also as a member of the Warren County board of education. He is interested in farming and owns farmland in Warren and Marion counties.
