GUY DAVID SCHOOLER
Guy David Schooler, president of the Hartford-Carlisle Savings bank at Carlisle, was born in Beadle county, S. D., May 24, 1886. He is the son of William Benjamin and Anna (Smith) Schooler. His grandfather, Peter Schooler, a native of Scotland, settled Scotch Ridge in 1856-
Guy D. Schooler entered Highland Park college, where he graduated in 1907 with the degree of bachelor of science. For a time he was associated with his father as a partner in a general merchandising and implement business in Palmyra, leaving there in 1914 to become cashier of the Hartford Savings bank at Hartford. When this bank merged with the Farmers Savings bank of Carlisle in 1933, he became vice - president and cashier of the Hartford-Carlisle Savings bank at Carlisle. Since 1950 he has been president of the bank.
Sept. 22, 1914, Mr. Schooler married Helen Frances Sanders, daughter of David F. and Mary Elizabeth (Owens) Sanders. Mrs. Schooler was born at Carlisle Sept. 21, 1889. The Schoolers have two children: Jean Elizabeth (Rozich), born July 25, 1920, and William Richard, born July 4, 1923.
Mr. Schooler is an elder of the Presbyterian church of Hartford. In 1927 he was commissioner to the general assembly of Presbyterian churches in San Francisco, Calif. Fraternally he is affiliated with Lodge No. 83, of which he is a past master. He is past president of the Warren County board of education. His political ties are with the Republican party.
