THEODORE, IRWIN
Theo. Irwin, merchant at New Virginia, was born in the community in which he lives Oct. 4, 1880, the son of Alexander and Susan Elizabeth (Steele) Irwin.On Oct. 9, 1905, he began to work as a clerk in the store owned by O. W. Woods, and remained there as clerk for 22 years. In 1927 he and P. G. Braucht formed a partnership, purchasing the general store from Mr. Woods. On Jan. 1, 1936, Mr. Irwin bought out the interests of his partner, nad has since that time been the owner and operator of the store.
For 20 years Mr. Irwin has served as school treasurer at New Virginia, and for about 10 years he served as township clerk. He belongs to the Masonic lodge, the Order of Eastern Star and the Lions club. He is a Republican.
