Frank McGee
(March 14, 1866 – September 26, 1949)

Lives 70 Years On Same Farm
Frank McGee, who celebrated his 72nd birthday Sunday [1938] at his farm south of Indianola, has lived on the same farm for 70 years. He was born near Ackworth, on March 14, 1866, and when he was two years old he moved to his present home and has resided there ever since. Mr. McGee recalls his intense fear of the Indians when he was a lad and says he always ran and hid in the barn whenever he saw them coming across the fields. When it came chore time it was always his job to hunt though miles of timber for the milch [milk] cows. The timber was unfenced land and was included in what is now Lake Ahquabi. Those who enjoyed the birthday dinner Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Frank McGee, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fear and children, Mona, Marjorie, Helen, and Glenn, and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Thorn.
