B. B. Adkins, of Carlisle, was in the city [Indianola] on Wednesday to visit his sister, Mrs. Joe Blake. Mr. Adkins is eighty-two years old, served in the Tenth Iowa in the Civil War, was justice of the peace in Allen township for eighteen years and mayor of Carlisle for four years.
