Bill,
Don't know if you'll get this or not (maybe you've changed your email address since 2002). There was a Bell family in Ottumwa in the 1920 census that has my interest up. It is the
Cagle(?) and Stella Bell family. His first name is difficult to read but it appears to be "Cagle" or something similar to that. There are seven children in the household and all are listed as single.1920 Wapello County Census
Cagle Bell 52 OH OH US
Stella Bell 48 NE US US
Jesse Bell (son) 29 NE OH NE
Samuel 26 MO OH NE
William 25 MO OH NE
Allen 22 MO OH NE
Ralph 18 MO OH NE
Pansy 15 MO OH NE
Beulah 12 MO OH NEApparently Cagle(?) and Stella were married in NE and had their first child in NE. They then went to MO for several years where all their other children were born. They then relocated to Iowa sometime after 1907. Wife Stella maiden name unknown.
Would you have anything on this family? I can't find any of them anywhere in 1910 census or 1930 census. Do you have a 1925 Iowa state census you can check. Would like to know what "Cagle's" real name is. Where did this family go?
Am particularly interested in son Samuel Bell born ca 1893. His name, birth year, and place of birth fits well with the profile of the Samuel Bell I am searching for.
Any assist on this family, and especially son Samuel, greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Craig Nelson
