A friend of mine who subscribes to Ancestry.com found a marriage certificate for Edward (as he was known in the family) & Julia (also known as "Nona" -- they were my grandparents) stating that John Edward O'Brien was born in Ireland. I can't remember the exact date.

According to family history, Edward abandoned his family, wife Julia Honora (rather than Julia Nora, as some records show) and three children Perry (my father), George, and Mary Carolyn when the children were quite young. No one in the family seemed to know what happened to Edward or where he died or was buried.
