The following may be of some help.

There are 2 Simonton marriages listed in the Wapello county records:

Ethel Simonton married Orville Smith on 15 Mar 1916
Myrtle Simonton married Alva Dickey also on 15 Mar 1916 (A double wedding of sisters??)

Jefferson County WPA records show the following person buried in Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon, Jefferson County, Iowa:

Eva L. Simonton - died 2 Apr 1934 aged 64
Frank Simonton - born 1833; died 17 Sep 1927
Frank Berry Simonton - born 1866; died 17 Sep 1931. He was the son of William and Lucy Simonton and husband of Eva L. Anderson. Their is an obituary in the Fairfield Daily Ledger of 28 Sep 1931.
