I checked death records for 1918 and couldn't find any Mason deaths of 1918. It is interesting to note how so many people died in the year 1918. Of particular interest was the Spanish Flu Epedemic of 1918. Where did you get Newton Mason's death date? I also checked for WPA book and all my cemetery books for Wapello County Iowa and couldn't find any info for you.
