Stephen Charles McBeth, 31, died at 2:46 p.m. January 11, 2012 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center from injuries sustained in a tractor accident.
He was born October 15, 1980 in Ottumwa to Charles E. and Janet Hasselman McBeth. He married Carolyn Ann Halverson on January 3, 2004 in Nevada, IA.
Steve was a 1999 graduate of Pekin High School, where he played center on the state championship football team. He graduated from Iowa State University in 2003 with a degree in Agriculture Business.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and Farm Bureau. He had served on the Ag Council at ISU and enjoyed Cyclone football.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; two sons, Garrett and Connor; his parents, Charles and Janet McBeth of Ottumwa; his parents-in-law, Stephen and Maradith Halverson of Nevada, IA; his grandmother, Bernice Hasselman of Oskaloosa; two brothers-in-law, Joel (Sarah) Halverson of State Center and Michael (Rebecca) Halverson of Waterloo; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Florence McBeth and Eugene Hasselman.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Ralph Kister officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
