James McMeekin died April 17th, 1910, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at the Highland cemetery, Eddyville. Uncle Jimmie was born at Carrickferguss, Co. Antrim, Ireland, April 26, 1826. He was within a few days of his 84th birthday. when coming to this country he and his wife opened a hotel in the state of Indiana; they from 82 to 88 he was section foreman on the Iowa Central. he mad a few trips back to the old country, his wife dying there some 14 years ago. He lost his last relative, a brother about 3 years ago.
